Hi! My name is Katja Ampe, and I'm an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan. I'm studying at the Stamps School of Art & Design and also working towards a BS in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience.
On the design side of things, I would describe myself as "aggressively interdisciplinary". Although my main creative focus is in product design, I am interested in many different mediums and academic areas. I learned C++ in an Electrical Engineering & Computer Science class, taught myself to 3D model and make an interactive experience using Unity, and made a robot in a Mechanical Engineering class to better understand the engineering side of industrial design.
I've always been interested in health, and over the past few semesters my interest has become focused on neuroscience and abnormal psychology. I have started pursuing a dual degree in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience so that I can conduct research on the brain to understand the root causes of mental disorders, to eventually be able to improve their treatment.
In my spare time, I enjoy flipping around on the University's club gymnastics team, knitting socks, reading fairy tales, and petting other people's cats.
Feel free to use the form below to contact me, I'd love to hear from you!
Thank you!
