This modular set of lamps is inspired by old-fashioned techniques of punching holes through steel cylinders to create detailed patterns of light. Cardstock with cutouts is glued to wax paper that diffuses the light, and a wooden frame on the inside provides structure. While in the daylight they look like boxes, when filled with an (artificial) candle at night their designs make a beautiful glow. Each of the three blocks has a different interpretation of a grid, and the set can be rearranged to build different lamps. Made fall 2020 for my product design class.
